Who We Are
The Time to Hear is Here (sm) is an advocacy group staffed by volunteers to provide research, education, and consulting services to the hearing-impaired, especially seniors, at no cost, focused on treatment with hearing aids. We also provide research, education, and consulting services to operators of public venues who might benefit their hearing-impaired visitors or members with hearing assistive systems or devices. At some point in its development in the future, The Time To Hear is Here (sm) may become a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, eligible to receive tax deductible donations.
Our Mission
To provide unbiased facts and advice to the hearing impaired, especially seniors, and to venue managers/operators on various hearing assistive systems and devices. We are not selling any products or services, such as hearing aids or other hearing assistive devices and have no financial or operational interest or ties with manufacturers, dealers, or dispensers, and receive no compensation or commissions from these entities.
Our Educational Services - The Presentation
A principal part of our educational services is a PowerPoint presentation that we give to senior residences, 55+ communities, senior centers, libraries, civic amd religious groups. In this presentation, you hear about:
- what's new in scientific studies of hearing loss, including surprising new data on the prevalence of hearing problems among the elderly,
- why Medicare should cover hearing aids,
- what's new in and remarkable in hearing technology, including OTC hearing aids and Auracast (tm) by Bluetooth (R) for venues.
- what's new in cell phone apps, recommended features, brands, and retailers, shopping tips, getting organized, and more.
The Speaker
The speaker is Ron Gottardi, consultant, educator, researcher, and public speaker. Gottardi has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rutgers and Temple Universities and was an adjunct Associate Professor at Drexel University. His areas of interest/specialty include management science, technology, and finance.
