Presentation: The Time to Hear is Here (sm)

Hear about surprising new data on the prevalence of hearing problems among the elderly, why Medicare should cover hearing aids, remarkable new advances in hearing technology, and new apps, shopping and brand tips, getting organized, and more.

The free presentation, called The Time to Hear is Here sm, is given by a volunteer from a hearing loss advocacy group for seniors called The Time to Hear is Here (sm). We are not trying to sell or promote any product or service, particularly hearing aids. * The only things we advocate are: 

• Hear about what’s new in scientific studies of hearing health, such as: 
•       The number of seniors affected by hearing loss is much higher than previously thought, according to a recent (2023) scientific study. 
•       Not only does untreated hearing loss severely impact quality of life, but it can also shorten life, according to another very recent scientific study (Jan 2024), 
•      This makes for a game-changing case for Medicare covering hearing aids. Together, let’s press congress to enact this.  
• Hear about what’s new in hearing technology, such as OTC (over the counter) hearing aids, and Auracast® by Bluetooth® systems for public venues, such as your church, theater, movie house, auditorium, etc. 
• Hear about what’s new in cell phone apps to aid hearing, hearing aid shopping tips, recommended brands and retailers, how to organize for hearing health in your senior residence/55+ community, and educational resources.  
• If you have a hearing problem, get it treated. Hearing aid technology has improved much in recent years. I know, I use hearing aids. If you aren’t sure, get tested.

The speaker is Ron Gottardi, consultant, educator, researcher, and public speaker. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rutgers and Temple Universities and was an adjunct Associate Professor at Drexel University. His areas of interest/specialty include mgmt. science, technology, and finance.

Duration: 30 minutes for presentation; recommend scheduling an hour to allow for questions, discussion and forms completion.
